Some thoughts on Girl Violence, the 3rd studio album from King Princess, that is now out everywhere worldwide today

Things have been so busy that I've not been able to post adequately on this blog, as my attentions have been on the r/KingPrincess reddit, the KP discord, and now also the @KingPrincessHQ instagram, but it's important to not neglect the one place that got me started in all of this wonder and magic and music -- my own blog.

Girl Violence plays early at Spinster Records, Dallas, Texas, September 9th, 2025

The album is out and its a seamless blend of feelings and self awareness and power. It's also raw and vulnerable and tender. But it goes by too quickly. 33 minutes is not enough, let me marinate!

My favorite songs are probably Get Your Heart Broken, Cry Cry Cry, and Origin.

But the entire album has AH-HA moments of connection, the entire album is full of them and I know it will take many more listens before I can fully define all the different emotions it stirs.

Enjoy the album, everyone. More photos and blog will be appearing here soon. It's been overwhelming to cover all the news outlets reviewing GV, interviewing KP, and the various promo drops (Early Listening parties at local records stores over 72 hours, Girl Violence WorldWide Tattoo Parlor events beginning today 9/13, and then the signing in NYC coming up, the Bazongas, and the music video teasers, the tiktocks, the stories on Insta, etc, etc, etc.)

Reclaim the flag documentary

King Princess has contributed to a powerful new documentary by Alexis Bittar and Bruce Cohen highlighting the voices of people from LGBTQIA+ communities and their fears around what the USA flag means to them these days.

The documentary was created to address increasing concerns about how the US flag—traditionally a symbol of freedom and welcome for all Americans—has been appropriated in recent years by authoritarian, fascist-aligned groups and their MAGA supporters. This appropriation has fundamentally altered how many people perceive the flag—especially those who don’t align with the narrow, straight, white, Christian ideal often promoted. What once stood for unity and inclusion now feels exclusionary and unwelcoming to many.

What does the American flag symbolise to you?

King Princess:
"When you walk past a house that has an American flag stoked in the yard, your immediate thought as a queer person is that I'm not welcome here. That it's a sign of bigotry and it's a sign of a fear.
And how sad is that?"

Watch the film on YouTube:

Writing on her discord, Miss King said:

"Hey @everyone I got to be a small part of this fab documentary. Times are so scary right now, it felt good to discuss that fear and how the American flag has changed in meaning over many years. Thought you guys would enjoy xoxoxo https://reclaimtheflag.us/"

King Princess to play exclusive gig in New York ahead of Girl Violence announcement, on 6-4-2025

Lots of news in KP World today!

Early in the morning we all got some interesting texts:

Today, early PST time, KP announced on Instagram that she would be throwing a surprise show in New York. On the discord, she posted she opened up 300 tickets for the Market Hotel venue:

"The people's (King) Princess has announced a last minute underplay in her very own hometown of Brooklyn, NY. Who knows what surprises the night will bring... "

Within minutes, as expected, it was sold out:

KP is pleased!

Interestingly, KP confirms that the Bazongas show of 6/6/25 and this surprise show are connected to one another:

Interestingly, a cohesive color began to crop up all over KP's various socials:
ORANGE....!? Tangerine? Tangelo?

Check out the venue!

Hugh Jackman invites King Princess on stage for his Live Show in New York City, Radio City Music Hall, 4-18-2025 & 4-19-2025

Following a surprise announcement on Instagram, KP appeared at 3 of Hugh's live shows at Radio City Music Hall this week, playing "If You Think It's Love" as a solo song and a duet with Hugh, a cover of Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe".

There is an as yet unidentified song she performed while she was wearing a floral suit, we only have a brief snippet of that.

Please enjoy some Youtube footage shot by fans while we wait to hope that someone uploads more over time.
